Job Summary
Olubusayo Fasidi PC is a growing immigration law firm in Houston, Texas, committed to providing exceptional legal representation with professionalism, compassion, and attention to detail. We are seeking a highly organized, dependable, and motivated Legal Assistant to join our team. Duties
- Schedule appointments, consultations, interviews, and court dates.
- Answer incoming phone calls and emails in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage intake and billing tasks, including sending retainer agreements to prospective new clients (PNC), follow up on payments, and generate invoices
- Monitor case deadlines and maintain the firm's calendaring system.
- Mail or submit applications with USCIS, EOIR, and other government agencies.
- Prepare and organize immigration forms and supporting documentation.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding case updates and document requests.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical client files.
- Draft correspondence and routine legal documents under attorney supervision.
- Review applications and supporting evidence for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist attorneys with case preparation, hearing preparation, and other administrative tasks.
- Perform general office duties as assigned.
Oualifications
Required:
- Minimum Associate's degree
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat).
- Strong computer and document management skills.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Professional demeanor and excellent client service skills.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
Preferred:
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a law office.
- Experience in immigration law.
- Familiarity with USCIS forms and procedures.
- Experience using legal case management software.
