Job Summary
MONDAY - FRIDAY 6AM-2:00PM
The Bindery Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining bindery equipment used in the finishing process of printed materials. This role ensures that products are completed according to customer specifications, quality standards, and production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate bindery equipment, including cutters, folders, stitchers, collators, laminators, and binding machines.
- Review work orders and production specifications to ensure accurate job setup.
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and compliance with customer requirements.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance and cleaning.
- Maintain production records and document completed work.
- Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to meet deadlines and customer expectations.
- Load and unload materials and finished products as required.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous bindery, printing, manufacturing, or machine operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders, production schedules, and measurements.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with commercial printing and finishing equipment.
- Knowledge of production workflow and quality control procedures.
- Forklift certification (if applicable).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 40 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to operate machinery and handle materials safely.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring printed materials are finished accurately, efficiently, and delivered on schedule.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
