We are seeking a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist for our Peer-Led Wellness Home. - OVERNIGHT SHIFT
General Responsibilities for Peer Recovery Specialist:
- Provide lived experience with recovery from mental health and/or substance use challenges to support others navigating their own journeys.
- Function as a role model to peers
- Exhibit competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills, serve as a consumer advocate, and provide consumer information and peer support for consumers in outpatient and inpatient settings
- Offer trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally competent peer support in both structured and flexible environments.
- Foster empowerment, mutuality, and self-determination in alignment with the core values of peer respites.
- Collaborate with individuals to co-create goals, coping strategies, and community connections based on the Individual Service Plan (ISP).
- Work within home-like, non-clinical settings such as the PLWS program, which emphasizes voluntary engagement, peer leadership, and community-based supports.
Qualifications and Skills for Peer Recovery Specialist:
- Be a certified Peer Recovery Specialist
- Hold a valid driver’s license with an acceptable DMV record
- Experience in using various computer software applications and/or Electronic Health Record (Preferred)
Salary is based on certification and registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling.
