Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
- Provides expert knowledge and acts as BU contact person for implementation of Global production standards and processes throughout all BUAM facilities
- Provides training and competence related to Quality Basics and Problem Solving
- Supports in developing global standards for shop floor quality in international teams, e.g. by collecting best practices solutions
- Participates with global quality network for shop floor quality (production quality).
- Supports in case of escalation on production- or supply performance
- Provides expert knowledge and acts as BU contact person for quality escalations
- Provides standards and guidance in case of quality escalations in alignment with affected global functions
- Acts as support and if necessary takes the lead for formal customer escalations
- Acts as support and if necessary takes the lead for quality escalations related to field risks
- Leads the relation with the customer on management level during escalations
- Ensures timely information flow between plants, BU, affected global functions and the legal and insurance department in the event of escalation, as needed
- Ensure the exchange and application of "Lessons Learned" between BU and Plants as outcome of escalations
- Monitors and drives the status of “Early Quality Alerts”
- Standardize methods for inspection according to global guidelines and best practices
- Work instructions are audited at BUAM production facilities to ensure that all standardize work sheets and that the related measuring equipment is available and meet requirements (e.g. GR&R studies)
- Regular process audits are performed to ensure respect to the standardize work and control plan on the production lines
- Necessary quality records are in use and maintained in accordance with the control plan requirements and the quality basics
- Support is given to the production facilities in the implementation of the quality basics (planning, training, implementation and audit to confirm compliance)
- Lesson learned and continuous improvements from problem solving activities are communicated and driven to the other manufacturing plants for similar programs, process and products
Secondary Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that
- Quality indicators are reviewed for all BUAM facilities and ensure that the quality indicators are well tracked and they have positive trends.
- BUAM Production facilities respect IATF 16949 requirements.
- Conduct all business related activities for, and on the behalf of, Eberspaecher within the limits of applicable local, state, and federal legal requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirement Profile
Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in science, engineering or closely related field
- Minimum five years of related work experience in automotive quality field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in working for a manufacturing automotive supplier
- Ability to travel domestically by car or plane
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of AIAG quality requirements (APQP, FMEA, control plans, PPAP, SPC, MSA
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements
