Job Title: Remote Referral Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Referral Coordinator to join our team. In this remote role, you will be responsible for managing patient referrals, coordinating communication between providers, insurance companies, and patients, and ensuring referrals are processed accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, strong attention to detail, and experience in healthcare administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process incoming patient referrals.
- Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorization requirements.
- Coordinate referrals with physicians, specialists, and healthcare facilities.
- Schedule appointments and communicate appointment details to patients.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Monitor referral status and follow up on outstanding requests.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and insurance representatives.
- Resolve referral issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist with additional administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in medical referrals, medical scheduling, or healthcare administration.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, prior authorizations, and referral processes.
- Experience using EHR/EMR systems.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in primary care perferred .
- Familiarity with medical terminology and coding.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
