Responding to maintenance requests such as leaky faucets, broken locks or minor electrical issues
Performing routine inspections of doors, windows, lighting and plumbing to identify wear or potential hazards
Completing basic repairs, including plumbing issues, replacing damaged tiles or adjusting door hinges
Assisting with minor upgrades like painting walls, mounting shelves or installing whiteboards
Organizing and maintaining tools, equipment and supply rooms to ensure quick access and clean work areas
Supporting other maintenance or janitorial staff with larger repairs or seasonal tasks
Following safety procedures when handling tools, ladders or cleaning chemicals
Documenting completed tasks and reporting recurring issues to supervisors
Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, heating and cooling building systems
Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment, such as voltage testers, plungers, drain snakes, wrenches, drills, saws, screwdrivers, hammers, levels, paint rollers and utility knives
Basic arithmetic skills to take measurements and calculate material requirements for projects
Organizational skills to maintain tidy maintenance and storage areas and track service requests
Observation skills to conduct routine inspections and diagnose maintenance issues when making repairs
Time management skills to complete all assigned service requests and additional tasks during a shift
Ability to move heavy objects from one place to another and access difficult-to-reach places, such as ceilings and crawlspaces
