Midtown Dermatology is seeking a friendly, dependable, and highly organized Front Desk Receptionist / Scheduler to join our growing team in Rocky Mount, NC. This position serves as the first point of contact for our patients and plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional patient experience.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high volume of incoming calls while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. This individual will primarily be responsible for scheduling appointments and managing patient communications for both our Rocky Mount and Raleigh locations, while also cross-training to assist with front desk operations as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls for multiple providers and locations in a professional and courteous manner.
- Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments according to established provider scheduling guidelines.
- Coordinate appointments for medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, and aesthetic services.
- Assist patients with appointment requests, provider availability, directions, and general office information.
- Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information.
- Document patient communications accurately within the electronic medical record system.
- Manage appointment waitlists and help optimize provider schedules.
- Cross-train to assist with patient check-in and check-out processes when needed.
- Support front desk operations during peak times, staff absences, and special projects.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
- Work collaboratively with providers, medical assistants, aesthetic staff, and administrative team members.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous medical receptionist, medical scheduling, healthcare customer service, or call center experience preferred.
- Experience in a dermatology, specialty medical, or aesthetic practice is a plus.
- Proficiency with computer systems and electronic medical records.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional appearance and demeanor, must be a self starter

Pay: $16.50 - $18.00 per hour
