American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Float Pool position at a Level II Trauma teaching hospital, requiring strong orthopedic experience and Cerner proficiency.

Short-term acute care setting at a major teaching hospital and Level II Trauma center with 330 staffed beds
-
Medical Surgical Float Pool unit with floating required within scope to meet facility needs

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Schedule is issued in 8-week increments
-
Full-time weekend requirement of 4 Saturdays and 4 Sundays per schedule cycle

No on-call responsibilities

Charting system: Cerner
-
Free parking available in both a parking lot and parking garage

Active WV RN license or compact RN license currently in hand (no pending licenses accepted)

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; 2 years preferred

Strong orthopedic nursing experience strongly preferred

Cerner EMR experience required

Two professional references required for consideration

Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have Cerner experience

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Black scrubs required; a Cabell t-shirt may be substituted for the scrub top

When assigned to the Surgery department, facility-provided scrubs must be worn

Travelers may request time off for standard and/or holiday time, with approval at the facility's discretion; only one of the three major holidays may be requested off

Block scheduling is not guaranteed and may be difficult to accommodate depending on schedule timing and PTO requests
