Duties
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on a variety of HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools like ohmmeters, and mechanical knowledge.
- Conduct system repairs and equipment troubleshooting to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Install new HVAC systems, including ductwork, piping, electrical connections, and refrigerant lines following HVAC design specifications.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports documenting inspections, repairs, and system performance.
- Assist with plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as condensate drain cleaning or pipe repairs.
- Use hand tools and welding equipment as needed for mechanical systems repair or installation projects.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or property maintenance with a focus on HVAC service technician roles; hands-on mechanical experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC/R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning/refrigeration) systems including electrical diagnostics and equipment troubleshooting.
- Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings accurately for system repairs or installations.
- Experience with HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair—familiarity with building automation systems is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by skills in plumbing, welding, electrical systems, and appliance repair.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to operate various field service vehicles safely.
- Certifications such as EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in ammonia refrigeration or boiler operation are advantageous.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and team members alike.

Pay: $25.00 - $37.00 per hour
