The Clinical Research Assistant 1 helps the research team with clinical trials. They follow federal, state, and institutional guidelines. They perform tasks during all trial phases, from pre-study to study closure.

Assists with clinical research projects to ensure quality, safety, and financial outcomes. Maintains regulatory binders, recruits study subjects, and researches billing compliance. Performs procedures, collects data, and resolves queries.

Performs specific technical tasks and procedures. These may include performing phlebotomies, recording test subject's vital signs, height, and weight. Collects and distributes subject diaries and questionnaires. Completes other study-specific procedures or tests as assigned. Records data.

Assists with approved research subject recruitment, retention, and communication. Conducts telephone screens and participates in research marketing activities like health fairs. Builds and maintains department databases of potential subjects. Schedules study subject appointments, makes and receives subject telephone calls, and relays appropriate information.

Maintains inventory of study-specific and clinical supplies. Works to ensure protocol compliance and efficient workflow. Organizes clinical work areas, counts and orders lab kits, ships materials, and checks and replaces expired items.

Prepares Institutional Review Board materials and communications.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Access or other database experience preferred.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Ability to manage time reactive projects in order to meet deadlines.

Phlebotomy skills preferred.
