Grain Receiver (Seasonal)

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
The Seasonal Grain Receiver supports harvest-season grain receiving operations by inspecting, testing, and documenting incoming grain deliveries. This role is critical in helping the mill efficiently manage increased grain volume during harvest while maintaining quali ty standards and accurate records. The Grain Receiver works closely with growers, truck drivers, and mill personnel to ensure grain is received safely, accurately, and efficiently.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform grain quality testing on incoming grain shipments according to established procedures.
- Collect grain samples and operate testing equipment to evaluate quality characteristics.
- Accurately record grain quality data in company systems and logs.
- Verify shipment information and maintain thorough documentation of incoming deliveries.
- Assist with directing and coordinating truck traffic through the receiving process.
- Monitor receiving activities to ensure efficient flow during peak harvest periods.
- Clean, maintain, and organize grain testing equipment and work areas.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly receiving environment.
- Communicate quality concerns, discrepancies, or unusual findings to mill leadership.
- Support inventory and traceability requirements through accurate recordkeeping.
- Follow all food safety, quality, and workplace safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to collect, record, and maintain detailed data.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions within established procedures.
- Comfortable working in an agricultural or industrial environment.
- Previous experience in agriculture, grain handling, quality assurance, or laboratory testing is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment during peak harvest activity.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to work in dusty environments and varying weather conditions.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to safely work around trucks, grain handling equipment, and industrial machinery.
Pay: $17.50 per hour
