Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Pick up and drop off students at designated stops, ensuring punctuality and safety at all times.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure mechanical safety and proper functioning of all systems.
- Manage student behavior onboard by applying effective behavior management techniques and fostering a respectful environment.
- Assist students with special needs or disabilities, providing compassionate support as needed.
- Complete all required documentation, including trip logs, incident reports, and safety checks accurately and promptly.
Skills
- Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving with a strong understanding of traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Proficiency in English is required; bilingual abilities are a plus for engaging with diverse communities we service.
- Ability to work effectively with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and childcare awareness.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Strong customer service skills to foster positive interactions with students, parents, and school staff.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies suitable for working with children of various ages.
