Summary
We are seeking a passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team at St. Thomas Child and Family Center in a rotating schedule role. This position is vital in fostering the growth and development of our youngest learners, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care and education.
Responsibilities
- Provide nurturing care that promotes emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Monitor and assess children's progress, adapting strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with parents to support children's learning at home.
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practices.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
- Participate in team meetings to discuss curriculum and student needs.
- Qualifications
- CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) preferred or
- Associate's degree in early childhood education, or related field preferred.
- Proven experience working with preschool age children in a childcare setting.
- Strong understanding of childhood development principles.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with children and parents.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans that meet developmental milestones.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
