Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Floor Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, repairing, and restoring a variety of flooring surfaces across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your expertise will ensure that each installation meets high standards of quality, safety, and durability. Responsibilities
- Measure and interpret construction plans and technical drawings to accurately install various flooring types including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy, carpet, and laminate.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying necessary underlayments to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to cut, shape, and install flooring materials according to specifications.
- Perform floor refinishing tasks such as buffing, sanding, sealing, and water damage restoration to restore existing floors to their original condition.
- Handle building materials with care during transportation and installation while adhering to safety protocols for manual handling and construction site safety compliance.
- Install fixtures, moldings, baseboards, and caulking to achieve a polished final look.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to interpret construction plans and ensure timely project completion.
Skills
- Proven experience in flooring installation including hardwood, vinyl, tile laying, epoxy floor application, carpet installation, and floor refinishing.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating processes for project planning and material procurement.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as saws, chisels, hammers as well as power tools like drills and sanders safely.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction plans accurately for precise installations.
- Experience with water damage restoration work within the restoration industry or general construction projects.
- Familiarity with building material installation standards ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Excellent manual handling skills combined with physical stamina for prolonged standing, lifting heavy materials, and working at heights or on ladders.
- Knowledge of remodeling projects along with handyman experience is a plus for versatile project support.
