Under limited supervision, responsible for providing phlebotomy services for the phlebotomy team. Mentors, trains, and leads lower level Phlebotomists.
Schedule: This position requires flexibility to work between 7:00am-6:00pm as needed.
Must be available to cover at different locations/clinics as needed. Ideal candidates must have reliable transportation in case they're needed at a different clinic.

Properly identifies patient according to policy, draws blood samples, labels specimens and sends to laboratory for analysis.

Maintains records of tests performed and samples taken.

Generates patient collection lists and labels, ensures the correct test are collected, verifying collection of all specimens, and label appropriately.

Correctly processes specimens to include centrifugation, aliquoting, and labeling based on specimen requirements.

Inventories supplies, equipment and requisitions as needed.

Stocks workstation with necessary supplies.

Provides customer service to both patients and providers.

Provides in-service training and precepts Phlebotomists.

Participates in developing best practices in clinical work flows.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or GED is required.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS:

Valid Texas driver's license

Certified Phlebotomist Technologist (CPT) certification is preferred.
