Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes to healthcare teams
- Support medication administration following HIPAA guidelines and care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet dietary needs and preferences
- Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform heavy lifting safely to ensure client safety
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments or community outings as needed
- Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to implement individualized care plans
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s disease), or memory care is highly valued. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and hospice or long-term care practices is essential. Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, social work principles, and caregiving for seniors or individuals with disabilities will strengthen your application. Prior training in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or specialized dementia/care management courses are a plus. A compassionate attitude combined with hands-on experience in patient monitoring and home health environments will enable you to excel in this dynamic role.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
