The Bench Substitute may be assigned to any school or instructional setting daily, depending on district needs.Performance Responsibilities: Report to school at least 30 minutes before the start of the school day or as soon as possible after notificationCheck in with the Building Administrator or Administrative Assistant(s) to receive daily assignment(s), additional duties, and substitute formsReview and implement teacher lesson plans and instructional materialsMaintain a safe and respectful learning environment for all studentsSupervise students in classrooms, common areas, and other assigned settingsPromote respect for school property, staff, and peersTake attendance promptly and report unaccounted students to the officeProvide a summary of the day's activities for the returning teacherReport immediately any injuries, illnesses, or significant issues to the officeFollow all school policies, rules, and procedures required of regular teachersCheck out with the office at the end of the day, leaving all required forms and notesPerform other duties as assigned to support school operationsEvaluationPerformance is evaluated in accordance with School Board policies.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: Frequent: Sitting, standing, walking, and climbing stairs.Physical Tasks: Bending, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching.Lifting: Ability to lift ranging from 2575 lbs depending on student size and situational needs.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Equal Opportunity EmployerRSU 57 is committed to providing a workplace free from discrimination and harassment.
