Job Overview
As a Home Health Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and personalized care to patients in their homes or assisted living facilities. Your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This position requires a dedicated individual who is skilled in patient observation and has experience working with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities and memory care needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for patients.
- Monitor and document vital signs, report any changes in patient conditions to the healthcare team.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules.
- Assist with catheter care and use of Hoyer lifts as needed for patient mobility.
- Maintain cleanliness in the patient's living environment, including laundry and cooking tasks.
- Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems for accurate documentation of patient care activities.
- Follow HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or those requiring hospice care.
Experience
- Previous experience in home health, caregiving, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices is advantageous.
- CPR certification is a plus; training may be provided if not currently certified.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disorders is beneficial.
