Job Summary:
Provide hands-on support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in a day center and community setting, ensuring safety, personal care, and skill-building in alignment with person-centered plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist individuals with personal care needs, including dressing, grooming, and restroom support.
- Support participation in day center and community activities, promoting socialization and skill development.
- Provide transportation to and from activities, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for individuals.
- Complete daily documentation and report incidents promptly.
- Reinforce skills in areas such as communication, self-determination, and socialization.
Required Qualifications (DBHDS & Agency):
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year experience supporting individuals with IDD.
- Physically able to lift, push, pull, or carry at least 35 lbs. and stand/walk for long periods.
- Ability to follow service plans, policies, and instructions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to maintain positive relationships with individuals, families, and staff.
- Caring and positive attitude, enjoys working with people.
