NEMT Driver Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely transport patients to and from medical appointments.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding schedules, trip updates, delays, and patient needs.
- Complete and submit all required paperwork, trip logs, and reports accurately and on time.
- Communicate professionally with patients, hospital staff, dispatchers, drivers, and other employees.
- Maintain all required licenses, certifications, and credentials.
- Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate customer service at all times.
- Maintain clear and accurate records in accordance with company policies and NEMT requirements.
- Assist passengers when entering and exiting the vehicle, as needed.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean and report any safety or maintenance concerns immediately.
Driver Requirements
- Must be at least 25 years old.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
- Must pass a criminal background check and sex offender registry check.
- Must pass a required drug screening.
- Must be available to work weekends.
- Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must be dependable, punctual, professional, and able to follow assigned schedules and company procedures.
