Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components according to detailed technical drawings and specifications. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality metal structures and parts, adhering to safety standards and industry best practices. Duties
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication shop drawings to accurately guide welding and assembly processes
- Perform welding using various techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) in accordance with AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards
- Measure and mark metal materials with precision using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure accurate fabrication
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, soldering equipment, and gas metal arc welding tools safely and efficiently
- Fabricate sheet metal components and assemble metal structures by cutting, shaping, welding, and fitting parts together with mechanical knowledge and hand tools
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols on construction sites or fabrication shops to maintain a secure working environment
- Inspect completed welds and fabricated parts for quality assurance using calipers, measuring instruments, and visual inspection techniques
Requirements
- Proven construction site experience or fabrication shop experience demonstrating proficiency in metal fabrication processes
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, mechanical blueprint interpretation, and interpreting technical drawings
- Skilled in multiple welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with a solid understanding of AWS standards and ASME codes & standards
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and shop math for precise measurements
- Mechanical knowledge related to assembly, fabrication processes, and metal materials such as sheet metal and structural steel
- Experience working with power tools, plasma cutters, soldering equipment, and gas metal arc welding tools
- Familiarity with construction site safety protocols and the ability to follow safety procedures diligently
- Excellent hand tool skills combined with mechanical fabrication expertise in a fast-paced environment
