Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Applications Contract Engineer / Database Developer to support a mission-critical defense application. This role focuses on maintaining, enhancing, and developing features within an existing database environment rather than designing a database from the ground up. The ideal candidate will have strong experience working with Sybase, along with application development skills in C++ and Java.

Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications that interface with existing databases.
- Work within an established Sybase database environment and support migration or development efforts involving MariaDB.
- Write, modify, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database interactions.
- Develop and maintain software using C++ and Java.
- Troubleshoot application and database issues and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with software engineers, database administrators, and systems engineers to deliver new capabilities.
- Support software integration, testing, and deployment activities.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow secure software development practices.
Required Qualifications
- Active DoD Security Clearance (required).
- Strong experience working with Sybase databases (must-have).
- Experience developing applications in C++.
- Experience developing applications in Java.
- Experience working with existing relational database architectures and modifying established database systems.
- Strong SQL development and database troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, Agile software development environment.
Pay: $75.00 - $90.00 per hour
