Job Description:
The Real Work You're working with people in financial crisis—facing wage garnishments, foreclosures, or overwhelming debt. Your job: prepare their bankruptcy cases so they can file with confidence and regain control.
You'll meet with clients (mostly virtual), review their financial documents, spot the legal issues that matter, and prepare bulletproof case files. Minimal courtroom time. Maximum client impact. That's the deal.
What You'll Actually Do
- Client meetings (virtual and in-person): Gather facts, confirm eligibility, identify what's really going on financially and legally
- Document review & case prep: Review financial records, confirm bankruptcy eligibility, prepare filing documents that are accurate and thorough
- Legal research & problem-solving: Identify issues before they become problems; research solutions; communicate them clearly to clients
- Case management: Track progress through our case system, collaborate with paralegals and other attorneys, keep cases moving efficiently
- Client communication: Explain complex financial and legal information in plain language. Do it consistently. Build their confidence.
If you're looking for a high-volume courtroom docket, this isn't it. If you want to build real bankruptcy expertise while doing work that matters, read on.
Who Should Apply You're organized and detail-oriented. You communicate clearly—especially about sensitive topics. You can handle a high-volume caseload without cutting corners. You genuinely want to help people through hard situations.
For newer attorneys: This is an ideal first job. You'll build bankruptcy expertise in a structured, supportive environment. Entry-level candidates who are sharp and motivated are strongly encouraged to apply.
For experienced attorneys: If you've done client intake, case preparation, or pre-filing work and you're tired of litigation, this is a real opportunity to build something without the courtroom grind.
