Coast Care Billing is a small, local business dedicated to partnering with Southern Oregon mental health providers to deliver high-quality billing and credentialing services. We are here to closely connect with our clients and take the burden of billing and credentialing off their hands so they can give their time and attention to those that need them the most – their clients!
Position Overview:
This is a part-time position with the potential for more hours for the right candidate. This position will be crucial in managing billing processes and ensuring timely reimbursements for our clients. The candidate must have keen attention to detail and the ability to stay focused on tasks with minimal oversight. Work schedule is flexible, however, at least 1-2 shifts will be required during weekday business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Submit behavioral health claims accurately and in a timely manner within multiple Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Manage claim denial processes and ensure timely follow-up on unpaid claims
- Handle Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA) enrollment and manual payment posting
- Communicate professionally with our providers regarding their accounts
- Submit and track prior authorizations
- Invoice patients and process payments, contact patients regarding insurance benefits, questions, and balances.
- Keep detailed spreadsheets
- Run claim aging and client balance reports within each EHR
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years’ experience in billing and/or coding in any field (mental health billing experience is a major plus)
- Familiarity with billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- High school diploma or GED
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a private workspace required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical billing and coding certification preferred
- Credentialing experience is a plus
- HIPAA certification
- Experience with Microsoft products
