Position Summary
The General Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for all cultivation facilities. This role is responsible for driving business performance by leading budgets, labor planning, compliance, facilities, production planning, and operational execution while partnering closely with the assistant General Manager and Cultivation Manager to ensure consistent crop quality and performance. The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen with extensive commercial cannabis cultivation experience and has a proven ability to lead high-performing teams in a fast-paced production environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight for all farm operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant cultivation activities.
- Lead and develop department managers, establishing clear expectations, accountability, and performance standards.
- Own departmental budgeting, labor planning, purchasing, and cost management to maximize operational efficiency.
- Partner with the Cultivation Manager to align production schedules, staffing, and resources with business objectives.
- Oversee facility operations, equipment, capital improvements, and long-term infrastructure planning.
- Monitor key operational metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, consistency, and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OLCC, OSHA, ODA, and company requirements.
- Develop and maintain operational systems, policies, and processes that support scalable growth.
- Communicate business performance, operational risks, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial cannabis cultivation leadership experience, including experience as a Director of Cultivation or similar leadership role.
- Strong business and financial acumen, including budgeting, labor management, forecasting, and operational planning.
- Demonstrated success leading large teams across multiple functions or facilities.
- Thorough understanding of commercial cannabis cultivation, crop scheduling, environmental controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven ability to analyze data, solve complex operational challenges, and make sound business decisions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and cultivation management software.
- Must possess or be able to obtain an OLCC Marijuana Worker Permit.
