Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and a strong understanding of food safety and preparation techniques. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring a positive dining experience for our guests. The best candidates will have experience in a scratch kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal offerings.
- Handle food preparation tasks, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper maintenance.
- Follow portion control guidelines to minimize waste while maintaining quality.
- Assist with inventory deliveries, control, organization and ensure proper rotations FIFO etc.
- Participate in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service to guests.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred; scratch kitchen experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is advantageous.
- Familiarity with menu planning and catering services is beneficial.
- A passion for cooking and commitment to delivering high-quality meals.
