We are seeking a professional and safety-conscious Motor Coach Driver to join our team. The Motor Coach Driver will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to and from designated locations, ensuring a high level of customer service, and maintaining a safe, clean, and comfortable environment on the bus. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills, a clean driving record, and the ability to interact with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a commercial bus on scheduled routes, ensuring timely departures and arrivals.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers, including assisting those with special needs.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Enforce all rules and regulations related to passenger safety and behavior.
- Provide clear, courteous communication with passengers regarding routes, schedules, and any delays.
- Respond to emergencies and unexpected situations in a calm and efficient manner.
- Maintain accurate records, including mileage, hours, and passenger counts.
- Monitor fuel levels and report maintenance issues to supervisors.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the bus, including interior and exterior upkeep.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies to ensure a safe driving environment.
- Address any concerns or complaints from passengers in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement (Class B or A).
- Minimum of [3] years of professional Motor Coach driving experience in MCI, Prevost, Setra, TEMSA or Van Hool buses with a clean driving record. Applicants who do not have motor coach driving experience should not apply.
- Ability to operate a bus in various weather and traffic conditions.
- Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns.
- Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to pass background checks, including drug testing and criminal history screening.
- Physical ability to assist passengers and perform necessary tasks (e.g., securing wheelchairs, standing for extended periods).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a bus operator or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations regarding public transportation.
- Basic mechanical skills to address minor vehicle issues on the road.
