Uptown Cheapskate — Fayetteville, AR
Part-time & Full-time | $13–$16/hr + bonus potential
Do you love fashion, finding a great deal, and actually doing something good for the planet? Keep reading.
Uptown Cheapskate is a modern buy, sell, trade fashion store — think curated boutique, not chaotic thrift. We carry thousands of mall and luxury brands at up to 80% off retail, and we pay people cash the same day they bring their clothes in. No listings, no waiting, no hassle. We take the experience seriously. It's secondhand done right.
We're opening our Fayetteville location and building our team from scratch. That means you'd be part of something new — helping set up the store, learning how the whole business works, and growing into more responsibility as the team develops. This isn't a "punch in, fold shirts, punch out" job. There's a real path here.
What you'll do: Keep the floor looking great — rack health, sizing, signage, all the details that make the difference between a store people love and one they leave. Work the register, help customers find what they're looking for, and learn how our buy process works (hint: it's one of the coolest parts of the job). Contribute to social media content on Instagram and TikTok. Help build the habits that make this store run well every single day.
You'd be a great fit if you: Are friendly, motivated, and don't need someone telling you what to do next. Take pride in doing things right. Have some customer service experience — retail, food service, hospitality, all count. Are genuinely interested in fashion and sustainability. And if you're excited about being part of an opening team rather than walking into something already figured out, that's a big plus.
You don't need: A fashion degree, thrift store experience, or a perfect resume. We'll teach you everything — what we can't teach is attitude and work ethic.
What's in it for you: Competitive pay with a clear path to advancement. Employee discount. A team that's actually building something together. Promotion criteria that are written down and transparent — you meet the bar, you move up. No waiting around hoping someone notices.
And one more thing: When you work here, you're part of something bigger. Uptown has partnered with buildOn and Kid to Kid since 2015 to raise money to build schools in developing countries. With the support of customers across the country, we've raised over $600,000 and funded 18 schools in Mali, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Haiti, Nepal, Malawi, and Nicaragua. Every item that sells here keeps a garment out of a landfill and contributes to a business that gives back. That's not nothing.
Sound like you? Hit apply — we'd love to meet you.
