Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Filipino Caregiver to provide exceptional personal and medical support to individuals in need of assistance. The ideal candidate will possess a genuine desire to improve clients' quality of life through attentive care, patience, and professionalism. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory or dementia care. The caregiver will be responsible for delivering comprehensive support that promotes independence, safety, and well-being within home, assisted living, or community settings.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe changes in health status to ensure prompt response to medical needs.
- Administer medications accurately according to care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and individual preferences, ensuring proper food safety standards.
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and other mobility aids safely to prevent injury.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and laundry.
- Document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding care plans and observations.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to clients, fostering a positive and respectful relationship that enhances their overall well-being.
Skills
- Proven experience in home health, hospice care, or long-term care environments with a focus on senior or disability care.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response procedures to handle urgent situations confidently.
- Familiarity with working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or similar settings.
- Experience with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory care, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts or vital signs monitors.
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status promptly.
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines.
