American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of RN experience and multiple certifications including TNCC and ACLS.

Works in a large, 101-bed Emergency Department within a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
-
Night shift schedule: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
-
13-week travel contract
-
Typical patient ratio is 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
-
Support staff includes techs (cardiac monitoring unit and internal processing area, triage) and unit clerks on days and nights
-
Equipment includes Baxter pumps and GE monitors

Charting is performed in Cerner
-
Every other weekend required; scheduling must meet departmental needs — block scheduling is not available
-
Floating within the ED to all sections is required; no floating outside of the ED
-
Active NC or compact RN license required
-
Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an ED setting
-
Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits) strongly preferred
-
Required certifications prior to start: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI (or accepted equivalent such as SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA), and NIHSS
-
ENPC required within 90 days of start

All certifications must be AHA or ARC issued and must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment

Previous HCA experience preferred

Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback

Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED

No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

US SSN and date of birth required for consideration

One professional reference required (two required for candidates from Florida or Missouri)

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible

The ED team is known for strong teamwork and serves a highly multicultural community with over 120 languages spoken in the surrounding area

Patient experience standards include AIDET communication, respectful behavior, maintaining updated patient boards, and keeping patients informed throughout their visit

Navy scrubs are required
