Job Summary
Responsible for the complex setup and operation of Davenport machines to fabricate production parts that meet quality standards, while performing preventive and corrective maintenance.
Essential Job Functions
· Independently set up and operate Davenport machinery, including metal material feeds.
· Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Davenport machinery.
· Assist other machinists with setups and troubleshooting.
· Read and interpret blueprints.
· Perform visual inspections and complete in-process inspection sheets.
· Use calipers, verniers, thread gauges, and micrometers.
· Safely load and unload materials.
· Follow all safety procedures.
· Meet customer specifications and production standards.
· Comply with all quality policies and regulations.
· Other duties as assigned.
Skills & Abilities
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong problem-solving ability.
· Attention to detail.
· Basic mathematical skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
· Strong multitasking ability.
· Heavy machinery operation experience.
· Screw machining experience.
Education & Experience
Required:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· 2+ years setting up and operating manual lathe machines or similar equipment.
· 2+ years in precision components manufacturing.
Preferred:
· 2+ years setting up and operating Davenport machines.
Physical Requirements
· Stand for extended periods.
· Heavy exposure to oils.
· Exposure to noise and limited ventilation.
· Regular lifting, bending, and movement of materials up to 40 pounds.
