AV Installation Technician — High-End Residential
Gulf Coast AV · Panama City Beach, FL Full-time · Field-based · Competitive pay based on experience
About the role
Gulf Coast AV designs and installs sophisticated audio, video, lighting, and control systems for luxury homes along the Emerald Coast. We're looking for a hands-on installation technician who takes pride in clean, precise work and wants to build systems worth being proud of.
You'll spend most of your time on residential job sites — pulling and terminating low-voltage wire, mounting and configuring equipment, and bringing lighting and control systems to life. This is skilled trade work on high-end projects where craftsmanship matters and shortcuts don't fly.
What you'll do
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling (Cat6, speaker wire, coax, Lutron MUX/QS runs) to a clean, labeled, serviceable standard
- Mount, rack, and configure AV equipment, keypads, and lighting control panels
- Assist with Lutron system installation and startup — HomeWorks QSX and RA3, keypad placement and engraving, load panels
- Read and work from architectural plans and system drawings
- Troubleshoot and service installed systems
- Represent the company professionally in clients' homes — clean, courteous, and detail-oriented
What we're looking for
- Experience in AV, low-voltage, electrical, or a related trade (residential integration a strong plus)
- Comfort reading plans and following a wiring schedule
- Solid hands: neat terminations, tidy racks, careful mounting
- Reliable, punctual, and safe on the job site
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift equipment, use ladders/lifts, and work in construction environments
Nice to have (not required)
- Familiarity with Lutron (HomeWorks/RA3), Control4, Crestron, or similar platforms
- CEDIA or AVIXA (CTS) certification
- Networking fundamentals (switches, VLANs, IP addressing)
- Prior experience on new-construction luxury residential projects
We're happy to train the right person on our specific platforms. A sharp, dependable tech with strong fundamentals and the right attitude beats a long résumé every time.
Why Gulf Coast AV

- Small-team environment where your work is visible and valued
- Room to grow into programming, system design, and certification
- Based in one of the best stretches of coastline in Florida
