American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, with hands-on cardiac cath lab, IR, and EP procedure skills.

Hospital-based Interventional Radiology unit serving adult and geriatric patients
-
Specialized procedures include cardiac cath, STEMI interventions, peripheral vascular, EP (insertions and change-outs), EKOS, Clotriever, balloon pump, vascular CSI, Hawk One, and thrombectomy

Patient ratios: 1:4–6 on days; 1:3 on nights/weekends

Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts, 07:00–17:30

On-call requirement: 8 weekdays and 2 weekends per 6-week period, with occasional additional call
-
Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per 6-week period

Floating required as needed, including to a nearby sister facility

EMR systems in use: Epic, Mac Lab, and Pyxis; experience preferred

Siemens Artis 1 x-ray system used on the unit

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are accepted

Active NC or compact RN license required; license pending at time of submission is acceptable

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and RCIS
-
Minimum 2 years of relevant RN experience required
-
Proficiency in scrubbing (level 3 or 4) and circulating is required
-
Cardiac Cath Lab procedure experience required: Balloon Angioplasty, Stents, Thrombectomy, Filter Placement, Pacemaker/Defib device placement, Left and Right Heart Catheterization

Interventional Radiology procedure experience required: Stents, Angioplasty, Peripherals, Upper and Lower Extremity, Vascular Studies, and Hemodynamic Monitoring

Electrophysiology procedure experience required: Cardioversion and Pacemaker Insertion

Experience with EKOS and CSI equipment required
-
General skills required: scrubbing, monitoring, and EKG interpretation

Must pass an EKG competency test prior to start

Two manager/supervisor professional references from within the past 12 months are highly preferred; references are required at time of start

IV start experience preferred

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
-
Previous permanent, PRN, or EP staff employees of Novant Health or New Hanover must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required

Orientation is conducted weekly; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
-
Pre-start modules (approximately 8–10 hours for acute care roles) must be completed before the assignment begins and annually thereafter
-
RTO of up to 7 days may be approved provided it does not fall on a holiday; RTO requests exceeding 7 days require facility approval
-
No RTO changes are permitted after booking and cannot be negotiated onsite
-
Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Travel pairs are permitted, provided each traveler has their own transportation and is agreeable to potentially different schedules
