Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Independently Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dynamic mental health team as a 1099 contractor. Must be licensed in New Mexico. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychotherapy services to diverse client populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and families. Duties
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to inform treatment planning.
- Provide individual, group, family, and youth therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma-focused therapy, psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and art or dance therapy when appropriate.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and facilitate behavior change.
- Manage crisis situations effectively through crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards, including progress notes, medical records, and treatment goals within EMR/EHR systems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on case management efforts for clients with co-occurring disorders or complex needs such as autism spectrum disorder or developmental disabilities.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, clinical ethical guidelines, and confidentiality standards while ensuring accurate medical terminology usage in documentation.
- Engage in ongoing clinical research and data collection to enhance treatment efficacy and contribute to evidence-based practices.
- Participate in telehealth therapy sessions utilizing secure platforms to expand access to mental health services across diverse populations.
Experience
- Valid New Mexico independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
- Proven experience delivering psychotherapy services across various settings including outpatient clinics, inpatient facilities, or community mental health programs.
- Demonstrated expertise working with children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges such as autism spectrum disorder.
- Strong background in clinical counseling techniques including trauma-informed care, grief counseling, addiction counseling, PTSD care, behavioral management, and gender issues counseling.
- Familiarity with ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Proficiency in using EMR/EHR systems for patient care documentation and medical records management.
- Experience working with individuals experiencing co-occurring disorders or complex mental health conditions requiring integrated treatment approaches.
- Telehealth experience is preferred; ability to adapt therapeutic techniques for virtual delivery while maintaining engagement and confidentiality.
