Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team in a busy mixed animal practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional care to our animal patients and support our veterinary staff in delivering high-quality service, and be a great team player.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Perform laboratory tests such as urinalysis and run blood chemistries
- Administer medications, injections, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian
- Handle and restrain animals during procedures
- Maintain accurate computer records of patient treatments and progress
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Monitor anesthesia during surgical procedures
- Lift 40 lbs and clean up after animals and keep clinic clean
- Clean and sterilize equipment and surgical instruments
Requirements
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology preferred but not required
- Proficiency in animal handling, restraint, and care, including horses and cattle
- Knowledge of animal anatomy and common medical conditions
- Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures
- Experience in laboratory procedures and sample analysis
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication skills and compassion for animals
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
