Job Summary
This position is responsible for the processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, payroll taxes, proper coding and posting of all accounts payable and payroll items, and all other assigned duties.
Duties
- Reviews and processes payroll timecards and payroll quarterly and year-end tax returns.
- Prepares and processes payroll taxes and payroll withholding amounts.
- Processes garnishments.
- Prepares payroll timesheet labels.
- Calculates cost-of-living adjustments and retroactive salary adjustments.
- Reconciles payroll check registers and quarterly payroll reports.
- Prepares workers compensation monthly billing and reporting.
- Maintains retirement deductions and contributions and prepares bi-weekly reporting.
- Entering and posting journal entries.
- Prepares and reviews vacation and sick leave accruals.
- Maintains and reconciles payroll related benefits such as vendor health insurance premiums and payroll records.
- Reviews and inputs accounts payable invoices in accounting software.
- Maintains accounts payable reports.
- Proper coding and posting of all accounts payable.
- Reviews purchase order requests for proper coding and cost allowability and allocability issues and maintains all purchase orders.
- Prepares year-end accounts payable reports to proper agencies, including 1099’s.
Experience
- Associate’s degree in business administration with emphasis in accounting with two years’ experience in general accounting.
OR
- High School Diploma / GED with three years’ experience in general accounting.

Pay: $22.19 - $27.04 per hour
