Overview
We are in need for a great Asphalt Superintendent who will be responsible for directing and coordinating all on-site activities related to asphalt repair, paving, sealcoating, and striping projects from start to finish. This position includes supervising the crew, organizing schedules and resources, maintaining compliance with safety standards, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work. The Superintendent also serves as a primary point of communication between the field team, clients, and company management.
You will be instrumental in driving project success while keeping a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise asphalt paving crews, ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently. Monitor their weekly hours and attendance.
- Assign daily tasks to crew members and monitor their progress.
- Inspect completed tasks for compliance with project specifications and promptly address any issues or deficiencies
- Ensure all team members understand and follow project specifications and safety protocols.
- Provide on-the-job coaching and mentoring, fostering a positive team environment.
- Oversee the quality of asphalt repair, paving, sealcoating, and striping work to meet or exceed expectations.
- Coordinate project schedules, materials procurement, and equipment usage to meet deadlines
- Monitor daily operations on-site, conducting quality control inspections to uphold standards
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members to resolve issues promptly
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all OSHA regulations and company policies
- Oversee the proper handling and storage of asphalt materials and related supplies
- Document project progress through detailed reports, logs, and inspections to maintain transparency
Requirements
- Proven experience supervising asphalt paving or construction projects with a strong understanding of asphalt materials and techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, technical specifications, and project plans accurately
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams
- Strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of safety regulations related to road construction and paving operations
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions for extended periods
- Minimum 3 to 4 years experience as a Foreman or Superintendent
