Job Summary
We are seeking a patient, nurturing, and high-energy Daycare Teacher for our 3-year-old classroom. You will guide children through a pivotal transition year, focusing heavily on social-emotional growth, language expansion, potty training, and foundational independence through structured play.
Key Responsibilities
- Targeted 3-Year-Old Development
- Support active potty training routines.
- Guide transitions from parallel to cooperative play.
- Teach self-help skills like handwashing and coat-zipping.
- Run engaging 10-15 minute circle times.
- Lead sensory, music, and movement activities.
- Classroom & Safety Management
- Maintain strict teacher-to-child supervision ratios.
- Sanitize toys, tables, and gear daily.
- Childproof the room for active exploration.
- Implement gentle, positive redirection techniques.
- Keep visual schedules to help children feel secure.
- Observation & Parent Partnership
- Track speech, fine motor, and social milestones.
- Log daily meals, naps, and bathroom updates.
- Use daycare apps to share photos and updates.
- Provide tips to align home and school routines.
- Address behavioral shifts with parents early.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Certifications
- High School Diploma required; CDA or ECE credits preferred.
- Current Child CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Mandated Reporter and state childcare health training.
- Clean criminal background check and fingerprint clearance.
- Skills & Experience
- At least 1 year of experience with toddlers or 3-year-olds.
- High physical stamina for lifting and floor play.
- Deep patience for tantrums and bathroom accidents.
- Warm, clear, and reassuring communication voice.
