Oliver Leigh Group is a Headhunting/Recruitment firm searching for a Director of Sales at Marketing at a beautiful event space in Seattle that focuses on corporate and social events as well as weddings.
Job Description
The Director of Sales & Marketing is the primary driver of revenue growth and brand visibility. This role owns all sales activity across corporate events, weddings, rehearsal dinners, social celebrations, fundraisers, and nonprofit gatherings — while building relationships and marketing presence. The Director will also play a key role in the development and growth of the offsite catering program as a new and expanding revenue channel. Reports directly to the COO.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales & Business Development
- Own and drive all inbound and outbound sales activity across all event categories
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients through proactive outreach, networking, and referral relationships with Seattle-area event planners, wedding coordinators, corporate event managers, and hotel concierges
- Conduct venue tours, respond to all inquiries, and guide clients from first contact to signed contract
- Develop customized event proposals and pricing packages tailored to client needs
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets
- Attend industry events, bridal shows, and hospitality networking functions
- Identify, develop, and grow offsite catering as a new revenue channel — including prospecting clients, building packages, and collaborating with the culinary team on logistics and execution
Marketing & Brand Visibility
- Develop and execute a marketing strategy across digital, social, and print channels
- Manage venue's presence on key venue discovery platforms including The Knot, WeddingWire, Zola, Cvent, and Eventective
- Oversee social media content strategy for Instagram and Facebook in collaboration with the marketing team
- Collaborate with the web team to ensure the site is optimized for SEO, lead generation, and conversion
- Manage a client database for targeted email marketing campaigns and identify cross-promotional opportunities
Client Experience & Event Coordination
- Serve as the primary client contact from initial inquiry through event completion
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Lead Chef to ensure seamless handoff from sales to execution
- Maintain accurate event files, contracts, and BEOs within the venue management system
- Solicit post-event feedback and manage venue's online reputation across Google, Yelp, The Knot, and other platforms
- Coordinate with the Lead Chef and Operations Manager on offsite catering inquiries, logistics, and client communication
Reporting & Strategy
- Track and report on sales pipeline, booking pace, revenue forecasts, and marketing performance
- Analyze booking trends and competitive landscape to inform pricing strategy and package development
- Present monthly sales and marketing updates to the COO Manage the venue's sales and marketing budget with a focus on ROI

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences
- Creative marketing sensibility with working knowledge of digital platforms, social media, and venue discovery channels
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple clients and projects simultaneously
- Self-motivated and results-driven; comfortable working independently and taking initiative
- Proficiency in CRM and venue management platforms; Microsoft Office and Google Suite required
- High level of adaptability and poise under pressure
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Training & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sales, event planning, or hospitality — venue or hotel catering sales strongly preferred
- Established network of Seattle-area event planners, corporate clients, or wedding industry contacts a significant plus
- Experience with venue management or CRM platforms (Triple Seat, Toast Catering, Salesforce, or similar) preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to conduct venue tours and walk event spaces throughout the shift
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
