Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Treasurer to oversee the financial health of our Town. The Treasurer will be responsible for managing all financial aspects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial guidance. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization's overall financial strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with IFRS standards.
- Ensure timely regulatory reporting and compliance with applicable laws.
- Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Monitor financial performance and provide insights to senior management for decision-making.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure accuracy in employee compensation.
- Utilize accounting software such as Southern Software for efficient financial management.
- Maintain accurate records of debits, credits, and other accounting entries.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits to ensure transparency and compliance.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software is essential and quick learning is important.
- Strong understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and IFRS standards.
- Excellent financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex data sets.
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, including debits and credits.
- Experience in payroll management is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to convey financial information clearly to Town Council.
