DRT Transportation is looking for an experienced, driven, and results-oriented Dispatch Manager to lead our dispatch operations. What You'll Do
As our Dispatch Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day dispatch operation while ensuring freight moves efficiently, safely, and on time. You'll lead a team of dispatch professionals, collaborate with customers and operational partners, and continuously improve processes that drive performance and profitability.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the dispatch team
- Oversee daily load planning, driver assignments, and freight scheduling
- Monitor real-time operations and quickly resolve service issues or delays
- Utilize McLeod and other transportation management systems to maximize efficiency
- Coordinate with customers, brokers, rail providers, and intermodal partners
- Optimize routing, equipment utilization, and operational profitability
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company policies
- Analyze operational metrics and implement continuous improvements
- Maintain accurate reporting and operational documentation
- Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives and process improvements
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and developing new dispatch personnel
- Support payroll functions utilizing SwipeClock and Samsara
What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who combines strong leadership with hands-on operational experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–5 years of logistics, transportation, or dispatch experience
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Intermodal and/or rail transportation experience strongly preferred
- Experience with McLeod or similar Transportation Management Systems (TMS)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong analytical abilities with a focus on operational efficiency
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
