Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and versatile Handyman/Laborer to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and installation tasks across school facilities environment. Your expertise will help ensure that building systems and equipment operate smoothly, safety standards are met, and property appearance is maintained at the highest level. Responsibilities
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC units, and building interior components using appropriate tools and techniques
- Perform carpentry tasks such as installing or repairing doors, windows, cabinetry, and other fixtures
- Utilize schematics and technical diagrams to troubleshoot electrical equipment and mechanical systems effectively
- Repair or replace facilities equipment including HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, electrical wiring, and mechanical components
- Carry out maintenance painting projects to uphold property aesthetics and protect surfaces from deterioration
- Operate hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other specialized equipment safely and efficiently
- Supervise or assist with projects requiring leadership or coordination with other trades or contractors
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in facilities maintenance and repair operations (MRO)
- Proficiency in electrical work including wiring, circuit troubleshooting, and electrical equipment repair
- Skilled in plumbing system maintenance and repair as well as HVAC system troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and blueprints for complex systems
- Experience with welding techniques for metal fabrication or repairs
- Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is a plus for automation tasks
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members
- Supervising experience or leadership qualities to manage small teams or projects effectively
- Knowledge of residential painting techniques for interior maintenance projects
- Ability to use electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters confidently
- Fluency in English for clear communication across diverse teams
