Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Production Painter to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and set up paint area to accomplish scheduled assignments by safely painting high-quality parts. Paint surfaces using spray or powder gun. Regulate temperature and timing of bake oven. Remove articles from drying racks when dry. Need to be able to keep accurate records and good attention to detail. Need to pass a drug screen (THC Friendly) and background check.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, cleaning, and surface treatment to ensure optimal coating adhesion.
- Operate spray guns, including airless paint sprayers, conventional spray equipment, and powder coating systems to apply finishes uniformly.
- Interpret production documents such as work orders, technical drawings, and coating specifications to execute tasks accurately.
- Use hand tools and mechanical knowledge to perform surface repairs, masking, and finishing tasks.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols by utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and respiratory protection devices.
- Handle materials safely, including powders, paints, solvents, and other chemicals used in industrial painting processes.
- Conduct visual color comparisons and quality inspections to ensure coatings meet specified standards.
- Maintain equipment such as coating spray guns and air compressors; perform routine cleaning and troubleshooting.
- Support construction painting surface preparation for various substrates in manufacturing or auto body repair settings.
- Follow manufacturing procedures related to coating application, powder coating techniques, and finishing processes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or auto body repair is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with coating application methods such as conventional spraying, airless spraying, and finishing techniques.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate hand tools and machining equipment.
- Knowledge of quality standards in production environments and ability to interpret technical documents.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to coating thicknesses, and material quantities.
- Understanding of safety protocols related to PPE use, respirator fitting, and hazardous material handling.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members on surface preparation and finishing tasks.
