Astar Education Institute is a non-profit located in Manassas, VA. We are currently seeking a motivated, self-directed Phlebotomy & EKG Instructor to teach phlebotomy & EKG as part of our Patient Care Technician training course. The instructor must prepare students to successfully complete the course and a potential licensing exam.
**Please note: weekend, weekday and evening classes available depending on your schedule. Theory classes are currently 100% online. HOWEVER, CANDIDATES MUST LIVE LOCALLY. Practical skills training is face-to-face at our facility.
Job Duties:
- Create clear lesson plans using Astar's established curriculum.
- Facilitate virtual theory classes using Zoom and face-to-face skills practice classes for phlebotomy and EKG.
- Organize and manage appropriate classroom instruction (maintain student attendance sheets & grade sheets).
- Maintain student progress reports and evaluations; give exams, quizzes and homework.
-Prepare students to pass their National Certification Exam with NHA through a variety of teaching resources.
- Provide supervision to all students during classroom and skills lab classes.
- Maintain familiarity with clinical equipment and skills
Job/Education Requirements:
- Hold a current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Virginia OR a phlebotomy or EKG technician certification/license OR another license in an appropriate field.
- 1 year of experience teaching adult learners in a classroom setting (preferred).
- 2-5 years of experience working in the healthcare field.
