Position: Mid-Plains Community College is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Career/Test Center Specialist. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: operating the day-to-day duties of the Career and Professional Testing Center including monitoring schedules, handling technical aspects, maintaining necessary equipment; performing administrative tasks such as record-keeping, taking of payments, scheduling and tracking accounts; and serving as a test proctor for MPCC students and others while maintaining an accurate inventory of testing materials; assist with career development, exploration, and job placement activities for MPCC. Responsibilities also include working with the four community campus student populations and other clients as needed.
Mid-Plains Community College, a legislatively designated 18-county service area in West-Central Nebraska, is a comprehensive, open access, public, two-year community college system that offers associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates. MPCC consists of three main campuses, one located in McCook, Nebraska and two located in North Platte, Nebraska. Additionally, there are community campus sites in Broken Bow, Imperial, Ogallala and Valentine with satellite classrooms located throughout the area. Associate’s degree is required. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, be familiar with the business community, understand a facilitator’s role, and have knowledge of career services delivery methods. The candidate needs to be able to work with a diverse clientele and have the ability to obtain proctor and fingerprinting certification by successfully completing required exams. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in using computers, various software programs, and the Internet. Competence in report writing, documentation, and travel to community campuses on occasion. Multilingual communication skills are a plus.
