Summary: First point of contact for drivers experiencing maintenance related issues while on the road. This position will ensure all equipment is repaired in an efficient, timely and cost effective manner.
Responsibilities:
- Do initial diagnosis of repair needed based on information from driver
- Determine authorized repair facility to best handle situation. Make arrangements for repair
- Estimate cost and time of repair, and communicate this information to all pertinent departments (Operations, Safety, etc.)
- Approve work to be done by repair facility based on set procedures
- Verify estimate of repair and investigate to the possibility of warranty on parts and/or labor
- Ensure warranty items are repaired according to warranty requirements
- Issue PO’s for repair
- Issue Comchecks to drivers to cover repair expense
- Record all repair information into EMS This includes all preventative maintenance work
- Review available reports for possible abuse of equipment (over speed limit, hard braking, high idle, etc.)
- Maintain communication with drivers and operations
Qualifications:
- Must be empathic and patient
- Excellent communicator; both verbal and written
- Computer literate (Microsoft office products, AS400)
- Detail oriented
- Ability to multi-task
- Some mechanical experience a plus
- Trucking experience preferred
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
