We are interested in candidates who are invested in the achievement, equity, and access of all learners in and beyond the classroom.This position reports to the Director of Athletics and respective building Principals. The Athletic Trainer will oversee all operations of the sports medicine program for our student athletes including the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This position works 45 weeks/academic year (mid-August through the third week of June) and the annual salary is $55,000-$70,000, based on experience.
This position is benefits-eligible.Candidates with diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, class, and/or gender backgrounds and experiences are strongly encouraged to apply.Find more information about Shrewsbury Public Schools athttps://schools.shrewsburyma.govResponsibilities Include: Provide first-aid and emergency medical care during all home athletic practices, on-campus athletic contests, and away games/MIAA tournaments as determined by the Director of Athletics Coordinate with families, coaches, and the Director of Athletics regarding pre-participation screening and medical clearances under district and state rules and regulations Maintain confidential medical records and injury reports in compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations Maintain annual concussion tracking and report findings to appropriate state agency Act as the primary liaison between injured athletes, parents, coaches, school administration, and physicians Manage the athletics training room inventory and supply ordering Other duties, as assignedPreferred Qualifications include: Bachelors degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or a health-related field Board of Certification certified for Athletic Trainers State licensure, certification, or registration in the State of Massachusetts Currently certified in first aid, CPR, and AED Prior experience as an athletic trainer strongly preferred Trained and/or experience with the Impact Concussion program and protocols Exhibits the values of Shrewsbury Public Schools Must be able to work flexibly in a changing environmentApplication Process: Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume, official or unofficial copies of undergraduate/graduate transcripts, license # or unofficial copy of license if applicable, and three current professional letters of reference, including one from a direct supervisor, professor, or evaluator.Please apply via www.schoolspring.comThe Shrewsbury Public Schools is an affirmative action employer, ensuring that its programs and facilities are accessible to the public.
