Primary Job Function
Maintain an efficient, safe, stable, clean environment in accordance with company policies and procedures, standard practices and safety regulations. Primary responsibility is to perform basic and complicated repairs, installations and maintenance on plant equipment. This is a safety sensitive Position.
Essential Requirements:
- Wear required safety equipment including but not limited to hardhats, safety glasses, safety harness, earplugs, dust masks and gloves
- Physically capable of climbing up and down, above, inside and under equipment
- Capable of doing repetitious arm, hand and leg motion
- Stand or sit for considerable amounts of time
- Lift up to 100 pounds safely
- Able to work various schedules including overtime, holidays, call outs and weekends as needed
- Work in inclement weather when required or as assigned
- Required and predictable attendance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum ten years experience with aggregate equipment such as crushers, screens, feeders, attrition scrubbers and conveyers preferred
- Ability to perform all welding, in the shop or field, requiring the use of arc welding machines and oxygen acetylene equipment
- Able to select and use proper size and types of rod
- Competent in the use of air, electrical, and hand tools such as; chipping guns, small jackhammer, shovel as necessary to clean work areas, large hammers (up to 20 lb. sledge hammer), knocker wrenches of various sizes, large grinders and drills of all sizes
- Ability to use shop equipment, pipe threader, grinder, power hacksaw, small drill press, small hydraulic press, etc
- Competent in the use of dollies, hoists, winches, rollers, trucks, boom truck and cranes to aid in moving and unloading equipment
- Able to run all necessary mobile equipment
- Handle large impacts plus, some dual man operations
- Use 5' bars and come-along for moving and lifting
- Possess steel toed shoes and hand tools per the Aggregate tool list
- Able to read, write and communicate clearly for documentation and customer relations
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Know and follow all company safety procedures and policies with or without supervision
- Follow Company policies and procedures
- Operate equipment in a safe manner
- Complete Pre/Post Inspection sheet when necessary
- Start up and shut down equipment in proper sequence per safety instructions
- Operate and analyze production equipment and make repairs as needed unsupervised
- Repair conveyors, screens, feeders, jaws, crushers, and attrition scrubbers
- Layout and fabricate patches for conveyors and elevator casings, etc
- Inspect machinery and equipment for defects
- Oil, grease and clean equipment and machinery to complete repair job
- Satisfactorily complete the training requirements to further their abilities in this position according to company policies
- Direct and train assistants that may be assigned as per supervisor
- Order, document and maintain parts inventory
- Perform and oversee janitorial duties, cleanup and general labor to maintain a safe and productive work area
- Able to work various schedules including overtime, holidays, call outs and weekends as needed
- Perform any other duties incidental to this classification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $40.00 per hour
