TITLE: Middle School English/Language Arts Teacher (The district maintains the right to reassign employees as necessary)

Days per Year: 180
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must hold a valid Washington State Teaching Certificate endorsed to teach Middle School English/Language Arts.
2. Evidence of a commitment to all student learning.
3. Successful teaching experience preferred.
REPONSIBILTIES:
1. Creates a program which will promote student involvement in experiences that are meaningful and relevant to student needs.
2. Conducts program in cooperation with other classroom teachers.
3. Provide instruction and modify instruction to meet the diverse learnings needs of all students, including students with disabilities and students who are learning English.
4. Measure student learning and progress and use student assessment data to plan and modify instruction.
5. Create a safe and positive classroom environment conducive to learning.
6. Work collaboratively within school, and district to support all student learning at high levels.
7. Foster a positive attitude with students, parents and staff.
8. Maintain effective communication with families, concerning students’ progress including holding conferences.
9. Complete necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
10. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research-based best practices.
11. Participate in school/district events, meetings, and professional development activities.
12. Assumes any other reasonable tasks assigned by the building/district administration pertaining to the operation of the school/district.
13. Other duties as assigned.
Pay: $52,167.00 - $98,325.00 per year
