Job Overview
Bright Nest Family Daycare is a licensed in-home daycare dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. We are looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Daycare Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role as enrollment continues to grow.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
- Assist with diaper changes, potty training, and daily hygiene routines
- Prepare and serve meals and snacks following daycare guidelines
- Lead and participate in age-appropriate educational activities, arts and crafts, music, story time, and outdoor play
- Support our weekly curriculum focused on letters, numbers, colors, and shapes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary daycare environment throughout the day Assist children with nap time and daily transitions
- Encourage positive behavior and model kindness and respect
- Communicate professionally with parents and families as needed
- Follow all New York State OCFS regulations, health, and safety procedures
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age Must have completed the required New York State OCFS Health and Safety Training before employment
- Experience working with infants and young children is preferred
- Must be reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Patient, nurturing, and passionate about working with children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively participate in daily activities
- Must be able to pass all required background checks in accordance with New York State OCFS regulations
Schedule
This is a part-time position with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role as enrollment grows.
Regular Schedule:
- Monday: 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM
- Tuesday: 6:30 AM – 2:00 PM
Flexible Schedule:
- Wednesday: Flexible based on program needs
- Thursday: Flexible based on program needs
- Friday: Flexible based on program needs
Availability Requirements:
- Must be available to work weekdays
- Flexibility is required, as additional hours may be available based on staffing needs Opportunity for increased hours and a full-time position as the daycare continues to grow
Pay
- $18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
